MSI Foundation arrived in Mexico in 1999, in the state of Chiapas

With the goal of supporting the population with information on sexual and reproductive rights and contraception services, to reduce the number of unwanted pregnancies and maternal deaths.

In 2008, we arrived in Mexico City (formerly known as the Federal District),

A year after the decriminalization of abortion in the city, to support the population in accessing legal and safe pregnancy termination. Our goal was to address a public health issue in Mexico: maternal mortality and high rates of teenage pregnancy; as well as to bring our other sexual and reproductive health services closer to the Mexican people.
