Copper T IUD with Silver
The Copper T IUD or Silver T is a plastic device with copper and a silver core that prevents implantation and eliminates sperm. The silver core acts as an antimicrobial agent.
- Does not release hormones
- It is placed inside the uterus
- Lasts up to 5 years.
- Silver is an antimicrobial agent that helps prevent some infections in the uterus.
- If placed within the first 120 hours (about 5 days) after unprotected intercourse, it can act as emergency contraception.
- You can remove it at any time.
- You can become pregnant immediately after it is removed.
- You only need to have it checked once a year.
- Its effectiveness is greater than 99%. The chance of failure is 1 in every 150 women.
