  • Evaluation: medical history, physical examination, and diagnostic tests.

  • Before your procedure, you will be given an analgesic and local anesthesia will be applied to the cervix to minimize discomfort.
  • A manual aspirator with flexible plastic cannulas is used, this is a less invasive process with lower risk than the dilation and curettage method (D&C), (a practice no longer recommended by the WHO.)
  • During your procedure, we will provide verbal support reduce any anxiety you may have.
  • Your contraceptive method will be placed at the end of the procedure.
  • You will move to a recovery room; we will monitor you until you feel ready to leave.
